Investment Data Analyst – Colchester, VT

 The Trust Company of Vermont is seeking an Investment Data Analyst to support our investment team with financial planning reports, trade execution, security analysis, and portfolio monitoring. The right candidate is a self-starter with a strong interest in problem solving and a general understanding of investment products and strategies. The candidate should be curious, detail-oriented, and eager to leverage technology and automation to streamline investment operations. Candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance.

Job Location: Colchester, VT

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Prepare comprehensive financial planning reports for clients, incorporating cash flow projections, retirement analysis, and asset allocation modeling. 
  • Execute securities trades accurately across client portfolios, ensuring compliance with investment policies
  • Conduct security analysis on equities, fixed income, mutual funds, and ETFs to support portfolio management and investment committee decisions. 
  • Design and implement process automation solutions to improve efficiency across trading, reporting, and portfolio administration workflows. 
  • Monitor client portfolios for adherence to investment guidelines, asset allocation targets, and risk parameters; flag exceptions for portfolio manager review. 
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues in supporting client requests and ad-hoc analysis. 
  • Stay up to date on capital markets, investment products, and industry best practices. 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, mathematics, data analytics, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in problem solving and a general understanding of investment products and strategies. 
  • Highly organized with great interpersonal skills and the ability to meet time constraints in a high demand environment. 
  • Analytical expertise, high degree of accuracy with attention to detail required. 
  • Proficient using software and AI in generating timely and accurate analysis. Proficient in Excel.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and high reputation in local community. 
  • Team player, willing to jump in wherever our growing company needs help.
