Our vision

The first independent trust company in Vermont is born

In forming Trust Company of Vermont, our founders envisioned a company that emphasized employee ownership, client service and community commitment.  We believe that when employees own the company, they create a positive work environment which lends itself to long-term employee commitment, which in turn leads to high levels of customer service and continuity for clients, and helps strengthen the local communities that we serve.

Our Structure

About Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs)

Trust Company of Vermont is an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) Company whereby all employee-owners have some level of ownership, and a vested interest in the continued success of the company.  Employee-owners operate with an owner’s mindset and are empowered to make decisions that will benefit the company and its clients over the long term.  As the company grows, Trust Company of Vermont can give generously to the communities that it serves.
